John Lithgow as Newt
... there's a LOT of Colbert preceding Lithgow, but here goes:FYI: I'm seeing Lithgow in "The Columnist" in NYC, 18 May.
p.s. I first saw John Lithgow in 1965. He was 19, I was 12. He appeared with Oberlin College Gilbert & Sullivan Players at Highfield Theater in Falmouth, MA. Memorable roles: Chancellor in "Iolanthe", King Gama in "Princess Ida".

...
The boy, an eighth-grader at the school, was shot in the chest by the district police officer, who was investigating a broken window in a portable classroom containing computers after an alarm went off, Pasadena Independent School District Superintendent Kirk Lewis said.

CEO Pay Grew 127 Times Faster Than Worker Pay Over Last 30 Years: Study
The Huffington Post | By Bonnie Kavoussi Posted: 05/ 2/2012
...Income inequality between CEOs and workers has consequently exploded, with CEOs last year earning 209.4 times more than workers, compared to just 26.5 times more in 1978 -- meaning CEOs are taking home a larger percentage of company gains.
But, of course, this disparity isn't really a problem...

Political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. - Tom LehrerThis pretty much captures my view of blogging today: it's just hard to compete with the headlines!
Yes, I continue to read the news - NYT, YahooNews, HuffPost... BUT: What can I add?
The headlines themselves are sufficient.
