Back when "conservatism" was an intellectually active and honest political philosophy, the well-known & well-respected conservative Edmund Burke observed that,
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."Failure to pursue the abuses of the previous Administration, and their perpetrators, allows evil to triumph.
Please, step aside and let Department of Justice prosecutors do their jobs.
Our Constitution is strong and can sustain us through this investigation. On the other hand, not pursuing criminals for fear of political consequences can only undermine the Constitution which you swore to uphold.
note: it started out much longer, referencing the Nuremberg War Crimes trials, citing Hannah Arendt's "banality of evil" critique, and so on. I decided for short.

ReplyDeleteIf he pursues prosecutions against the Busheviks, he's GUARANTEED to face similar prosecution at the end of his regime, too.
He's just not that brave...
Plus, he knows it would b e IMPOSSIBLE to get a conviction. A jury, to convict, would need to be unanimous. 30% of the country still thinks the Chimp was a hero...30% x 12 (jurors) = a MINIOMUM of 3 votes to acquit, even if there are films, tapes, interviews, and the scorched flesh of the victims. All they gotta do is say they did it "to keep Murka safe."
