The GOP establishment - such as it is - seem to be at great pains to shelter their somewhat non-traditional candidates from the media.
Rand Paul has been described by this GOP establishment as "naive" for appearing on The Rachel Maddow Show... and has since, on the advice of his wise counselors, severely restricted his media access.
Sharron Angle - GOP Senate nominee in Nevada - has been deemed "not quite ready for primetime" by GOP establishment.

So - here's the ad campaign:

"If they can't handle Rachel Maddow, how are they going to handle al Qaeda?"
