"9/11 changed everything!"

Bullshit!

Forgive me. I've made an honest attempt to avoid profanity on this blog... but "9/11 changed everything" is simply bullshit!

W changed everything.

He and his minions manipulated us to restrict our liberties... using 9/11 as a convenient pretext.

9/11 was the actions of a few men, guided by an insane leader.

What would have prevented 9/11? Simple:
1) enforcing anti-hijacking security in effect at the time. Box-cutters - the 9/11 hijackers' weapons - were ILLEGAL on airplanes pre-9/11.
2) equipping commercial airliners with unbroachable cockpit doors.

Would massive, intrusive surveillance have helped? NO! -
Recall, all the discussion in the immeidiate aftermath of 9/11 was on "connecting the dots" - NOT on generating more dots! We had the intelligence - we simply didn't use it!

No - 9/11 was a godsend for W's Administration, providing a convenient pretext for expanding the Executive.

We - "we the people" - now torture.
We - "we the people" - now kidnap foreigners with impunity.
We - "we the people" - now forsake the rule of law for an arbitrary despotism, in the name of "security."

9/11 changed nothing. We are still "We the people." It is time to reclaim our heritage.

Stop the madness.
