WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A dragon-sized, fruit-eating lizard that lives in the trees on the northern Philippines island of Luzon has been confirmed as a new species, scientists reported on Tuesday.
Most of the time the 'new species' news involves single-celled critters, or maybe insects... every once in a while a bird.

This news is about a BIG lizard!
How'd this fella stay hidden all this time?
(Well... apparently, he didn't: the exemplar individual was rescued from a hunter who'd thought simply to eat it!)
