DENVER - Iraq war veterans brought their military credibility to the podium on Wednesday and endorsed Sen. Barack Obama as the best candidate to lead the military and help veterans.
It's amazing what eight (8) years of W can accomplish!
Yes - Iraq veterans, those who ought be stalwart Republicans, are supporting the Major Party Candidate who ISN'T McCain!
Let's see... reckless militarism, over-stretched troops, shameful treatment of veterans... Gee, I wonder what went wrong!
But... but... Obama wasn't a POW! Heck, he hasn't even served in the military!!
Guess the boots on the ground are realizing that getting shot down and held as a POW really doesn't qualify one to be Commander-in-Chief!
[In my more cynical moments I think, "Getting shot down" is evidence of incompetence... but to espouse that position is political suicide!] On the other hand, "Getting shot down" is a passive experience - it is not something McCain DID, but something that happened to him.
Is there any way to make use of this without committing political suicide?
Sing a song.
