As the person in the household responsible for the laundry I'm immensely grateful for the "Downy Ball" - the device that allows you to include fabric softener with the wash WITHOUT having to remember to rush to the washing machine for the rinse cycle.
That said, I take the Downy Ball's performance on faith. I assume it does what it claims to do - releasing fabric softener into the wash at the beginning of the rinse cycle.
For all I know, it opens up immediately, during the wash cycle.
All I know for sure is -
1) I put it in at the beginning of the cycle, loaded with fabric softener;
2) I take it out at the end of the cycle, and it's empty.
Faith is a wonderful thing!
