Self-identification - a matter of perspective

Yesterday's ABQ Journal ran an Op-Ed, Term Limits Would Fix Broken Congress. The author, Santa Fe resident Paul W. Keaton, identified himself as "a center-right citizen."

But - he notes that,
"Congress doesn't listen!" If it did, by now Congress would have defeated ObamaCare and the Cap and Trade bill.
Hmmm... from my perspective, someone who characterizes health insurance reform as "ObamaCare" is rather more right than center!!!

He goes on to note that,
In various forms, the most frequent complaint I heard at the three New Mexico Tea Parties I have attended is that government is broken.
[emphasis added]
He's attended three New Mexico Tea Parties??? - and he self-identifies as a "center-right citizen"??? - Again, from my perspective, attending 3 Tea Parties seems more characteristic of "right" (or even "far right") - with little hint of "center".

I note that I self-identify as progressive, and left-of-center.
I do not believe I am delusional.
