Cheney warns of new attacks

Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years, and said he fears the Obama administration’s policies will make it more likely the attempt will succeed.

First things first: This is an inadvertent self-indictment of Cheney by Cheney!

Seven-and-a-half years after 9/11, Cheney believes that al Qaeda is still an existential threat to America.
SEVEN-AND-A-HALF YEARS!!!

In W's first eight (8) months in office he & Cheney did NOTHING to prevent 9/11.
In the 7-1/2 years since 9/11 their policies did NOTHING to diminish the threat!

Maybe - just maybe - it's time to try something different!

My earnest hope: rather than focusing on Cheney's criticism of Obama's policy, and his predictions of imminent attack, perhaps the media will pick up on the "self-indictment" framing:

W & Cheney's policies were complete failures!

... AND Cheney knows it!!!

As a fun psychological aside: What is it about mushroom clouds that fascinates the former VP (he used to be a Congressman!).
[digression: maybe I should start referring to him as "former Congressman Cheney".]
I'm not creative enough to get Freudian here, but it does seem an odd obsession...
